How does Tint Work?

Does Tinted Glass Block UV Rays?

Tinted Glass can be beneficial in Blocking UV Rays. First of all, UV rays can be quite harmful to one’s physical health. UV rays are a risk factor for some kinds of cancer, more specifically skin cancers. Studies show that over ninety percent of those suffering from skin cancers were linked to being regularly exposed to UV rays.

Most of these cancers can easily be prevented by applying Tint to places like one’s car, office, and home.

Tinted windows are designed to block UV rays, which is known to mutate a part of your skin’s cells, resulting in abnormal growths that can lead to a failed health. One way that scientists and doctors agree upon as a great way of blocking UV rays is to get tinted windows for your home, office, and car. Some tinted windows are designed to block out 99.9% of UV rays in the sunlight. It would help if you procured tinted windows for your offices, homes, and cars from respectable brands. Using tinted windows go a long way to block UV rays in a large percent, reducing your risk level of having mutated skin cells.

Tinted Glass, how does it Work?

Different kinds of glasses usually have varying SPF- sun protection factors, while some are great at filtering the UV rays out, others are known to reduce glare, improve security, and reduce heat. Let’s consider the following, Car windshields are made with laminated glass – a combination of a flexible plastic occupying the middle of two pieces of thin glass. The plastic between the glass is designed to block UV rays and prevent the glass from shattering, and provides protection for vehicle occupants. Aside from safety, windshields offer some protection from the damaging rays of the sun, and most windshields are known to have an SPF of 50.

Unlike car windshields, Home windows in your apartment and those in your office often lack the essential plastic used to block UV Rays. That said, This means they do nothing in blocking out UV rays. Most noteworthy, Home windows have less than 16 SPF, meaning that your risk of having skin cancer increases. Furthermore, the SPF of home glass is usually lower than those seen in sunscreens at your local convenience store.

In conclusion,  If you spend a lot of time in your car or near glass that untreated or coated, you need tinted windows to block the UV rays. Studies have shown that those who drive a lot and do not have tinted windows are known to be more at risk of skin cancer, especially on the body’s left side (In the US).
